2009 marked our first year as a Knights of Columbus Council at Holy Guardian Angels Parish. Our council was chartered in September 2009 and in December 2009 we undertook our biggest charitable undertaking to date. Grand Knight Mark Ambruster was instrumental in spearheading this inaugural event in conjunction with Sandra Derr from the Reading office of Catholic Charities of Allentown. 2010 was our second year of working with Sandy and Catholic Charities of Allentown. The Knights of Columbus of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Church assembled 40 Christmas food baskets for older adults and shut-ins which exceeded our first year total of 21. This event was again spearheaded by Mark Ambruster, now Past Grand Knight for our council.
